The Leaving

The Leaving

A Poem by Poet_76

The meeting is always the best fantasy
The leaving is what boggles my insane mind
I cannot function
I cannot raise my head from this tear stained pillow
Life is now empty
A treacherous journey will begin
I will sit
Alone
Days will pass me by
And I will grow feeble in that favorite rocking chair on my favorite white porch
I have lost hope in my being
No being
No humanness
Not anymore
Since you have been gone
I've turned to a solid statue of coldness and despair
Will you be back?
For I don't know in this heart of mine
Seems like forever is a very long time.

The joy of the meeting to the despair of the leaving perfectly summed up. Such a rollercoaster of emotion even after they have gone, leaving you in a whirlwind of your own thoughts and fears. Beautifully captured. Thank you for sharing.
