"The Old Man"

Inspired by real events...thank you Syd.

He told me to be grateful

and to thank the Lord above.

To never take a day for granted

or fail to show my love.

He told me things would change

as the years swept by.

So if you love her, tell her

and here's the reason why.

To every road there is an end

it's marked by God and time.

The mountain top you'll never reach

if you don't start the climb.

Don't ever let a day go by

or even waste a minute.

For God has given in your hands

a life to live...so live it.!

The old man, and my friend, Syd...spoke these words to me one day...He said: "David, you're a young man still, don't ever let a single day go by without really living it. When your older everything changes....and I'm old David "...and so this poem was born. Thank you Syd, and God bless you...Night.2013

Yes, we should never waste a minute. We should live our lives with joy and gratefulness. Sorrows and hates should not stay long because the time we keep those negative feelings inside our hearts, we are stealing the time that we supposed to be happy.
