Faltering BeautyA Poem by Butch DecatoriaFaltering Beauty
He pauses to admire the perfect laugh and the glowing smile he says it is beautiful, to see me so
I do not recall what it was before you
But I have felt the heaviest condemnation, monsoon tears and just realizing what I use to be
Beautiful defined in child-like contacts unflinching truth unafraid of lies Beautiful is
Someone who uncloaks a magic cape unveiling harshest love rude and raw
is life... mine is faltering, I do not remember becoming this ugly
When I distort our happiness with dusk's derelictions, dining on delights meant for dreams.
Ample Love, yet--faltered beauty, our promises have become distilled, delayed reactions
When did this lose it's zest it's understanding and selflessness,
the beautiful things always have outter shells
One would not expect a pearl from creatures as such as us:
a grain of sand yet to be...
He says he misses my laugh, the solidity of it, complete in the moment
I do not realize but as of late, my faltering beauty, he claims
has now deflated my song has faded... © 2008 Butch DecatoriaReviews
