An Enchantment / Peace From Death

An Enchantment / Peace From Death

A Poem by Butch Decatoria

Angelic Halo above my head,

Dragon's breath within my chest

Eagle's wings and his distant sight

Pack of Wolves with Moons alight

Gather these enchantments' rite

hear the plea for Minotaur --to better fight

the fog, the wicked who always hide (behind black doors)

in whispers, behind walls of their shadowed lies

"return that fear for just their eyes"

Cherub's spear and golden wings

Phoenix Fire to rise again

Heaven's hail-storm, be my weathervane

to cleanse and quench this harbingering form

(be slain).

I will not waver, I will not weep

with all my strength--the Truth I'll keep;

I will not slumber, nor will I leave

with arch-angel's favor, pray

my foe's sword to sheath. Make this cycle's circle complete.

With Heaven's love for them to stay away...
