Integrity

Integrity

A Poem by Butch Decatoria

INTEGRITY

We have lost our ability to trust

and also our will to continue giving

all that we know of our own intentions

toward each other

it's lost, but believe faith

it will return...

Do not try to keep our magnificence still,

the life of our breath moves us,

it is a gift to nurture

away from the stench

filled with fire

of sulferous green and blue

scorching what we have faith in

or the absolute truth

We are not them

who are easily amused by

the suffering of our own, standing still

watching as others

humilate those who are sure

of themselves confused

When they believe the stabbing

grabbing lies

that defuse the moment we are

light hearted here...

Be where you say you are.

Do what you said you would for us

Question:

How do you love many, or even if at all

yet do not even know yourself?

when we ask of us

a home we know is ours - and say

we know where we are not above them all,

but they are below and surround us

after the fall, another sideshow, after all...

Just know who and admit the one you are

and many will feel you

if love is what makes you crawl...
