Scrying

Scrying

A Poem by Butch Decatoria

"

i can see us years from here

demons, vices replaced by celebrating life's ease

our time having fermented to finer wines

of comfort & joys within each other,

unmoved adoration, unflinching trust--even as family

over time, accepts us...

you are swimming in surround-sound laughter,

friends and daughter, recalling your mischief / Loki with his masks before

a tantrum thrown and you were loudly heard;

i smile because i also knew him well - the devils horns,

the fire that almost consumed to burn

writhing bodies of boys and porn... all washed by time

kindling of age's understanding, you sit now

a legend that is loved still...

your son is on your shoulder, there

as i see it - further days will polish your relationship with him,

for polished is his stature,

having learned the lesson's of how gold may tarnish

but still keep hold it's valuable weight...

your wisdom has taught him self acceptance, respect intelligence,

hope when nothing else seems to be alive,

climb barefooted, bare-chested, bare of regrets that tall tree of life...

free-fall if he must, but always have that trust; lessons i believe,

and maybe taught you too...

still, he is strong as once we were,

and he has your eyes as deep as the secrets you use to keep

from me,

as i stand with my camera,

to immortalize an immortal kind

the man you are then is still the man you are now...

boy in wonder of your romeo days...

i can see us there,

and somehow i am calm--unafraid of what may come,

tho' today is rougher than yesterday

but tomorrow will always come,

with you as my wand

and i as your biography - a glorious story will they see...

love not tragic, but love complete...

my magus light illumine Upon his magic wings.
