In The Land of the Wasteful

In The Land of the Wasteful

A Poem by Butch Decatoria

In The Land of The Wasteful

Wisdom comes when death is at the door,
the best times arrive when you are closer to here
like a gift from the universe
wonderful / beautiful things declared
a perfect clarity
eyes suddenly white of despair,
open to the heavenly tiers
on this transient earth
bound by weak flesh,
become powerful / in torrents of thoughts’ relish
filling up volumes,
questions / a child seeks to dress
oneself
Fulfillments sung & fought the selfish,
myself
a mosquito in amber
caught.
Time in a jewel of past life,
It had been beautiful, a face full of light...
days in the land of the wasteful,
as we harbor in the night…
Distraught.                Hopelessness.
Sleeping.
Living.
Weight.          Heavy.
Graveyard.
Moons.
Denied.
Respite.
Awakening.
Sight.             Love alight…
