Dream

A dream that is worth staying asleep until its over............

I sit close to where
the waves hit the shore;
the setting sun flares
as I sit and adore
its large golden crest
that flashes at the brink
of the Horizon as it slowly sinks

Then you appear; so beautiful and silhouette
with sparkling eyes and a bright smile
more beautiful than the sunset
You sit next to me under the palm,
Wittingly knowing that
I can't resist your charm.
You and I watch the sunset
as our hearts beat abreast.

Your warm hand holds mine
as you place your head on my shoulder
both of us unaware of the time
as the sunset gets older.
You and I then look into each others eyes
cherishing this moment
as the wind starts to quiet its cries

I whisper to you that I love you
then you with glistenin brown eyes,
say that you love me too.
Jus as we are about kiss
another familiar voice
calling my name out of the hiss
of the waves........

I wake up to see my mother
standing over my bed
with a smile on her face..........

It was just dream that i wish was true
a dream that as much as i wish it would;
May never come true...
