Word Of The Day....

Inspired me to write this poem after a conversation with my sister today...

 

Today I took some time out to

hang out with my big sis

Writing invites for family and

friends sealing each with a kiss

 

Planning my sisters’ wedding

her theme is Peace and Love

discussing all things beautiful

and if she'd like to release a dove

She looks at me with a smile on

her face with her big brown eyes

I want this day to be extra special

tell no one she says.. it's our surprise

 

We sat chatted giggled lots

ticking off from her 'to do' list

I know she's going to look beautiful

and live happily in wedded bliss

 

Attention turns back to matters at hand

we discuss some more about the day

She says "I want it to be 'Whimsical'

filled with hearts and candles everywhere"

a wedding is a wedding is a wedding...ah, but that is not true. each one is a different experience and that one day of nuptials and blissful exchanges which are meant to last forever. i used to think of weddings and funerals in the same vein...both are forever goodbyes to someone, but....a wedding is the beginning of life, i have come to learn and accept as the beauty of betrothal's fruition. congrats and much happiness to the giddy couple!!!!
