Soar

Soar

A Poem by Leviathus Fortes

I always feel more comfortable
If I know that I am true

I will not disembark from myself
Who I am, I will always be

So go on, with your judgemental life
Of great things, you will not receive

But my heart is what I trust the most
It shall take me to a higher place

Mountains all around for me to climb
I shall do so with no fear

When I reach the top of the summit
A metamorphosis shall be

I will transform into an eagle
Then spread out my wings and fly

I will soar so high up in the air
For up there, I will be free

Where is it that I go
The wind shall guide my way

I revel in its certainty
For true harmony I've found

All of myself, I'll lose inside this
As the beat of music plays

Life has a rhythm, I dance to it
But create my own song along the way

When the wind stops blowing
And my wings can glide no more

I shall rest upon, safe haven
Awaiting the next moment I may fly

So here I go, imagine
All that I hope to achieve

I'm a dreamer, you can say it
But at least I believe in me

Kurt Cobain once said "I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not.".
He was spot on when he said that, and so were you as you wrote this great little poem.
Well done!
