One Last Rhyme

One Last Rhyme

A Poem by Leviathus Fortes

Decaying soul, please follow suit
As have my heart and mind
Cling on no more, to anything
Place yourself to rest

I don't need you to be all alone
There nothing healthy about that
Why must you be the loner
I want you to have company

Your stubbornness astounds me
But I see that you're still here
I didn't think that we were friends
We've caused each other so much pain

What is it you are wanting
I have no more that I can give
I am drained, burnt out, on empty
So I leave this one last rhyme

I just want to say thank you
For the sentiment, I suppose
When gone, I'll keep you with me
In both poetry and prose

There is a strength and poignancy here that I really like. You have drawn me back to the site tonight, Leviathus, and I think I may have to visit more often if this is the sort of poetry I can read. :)
