I’ve heard it said that sunshine follows rain,
As though the rain itself should be despised.
And raging storms are treated with disdain
Or outright fear, and faith is compromised.
How often have I wished for cloudless skies
When frightened by the storm clouds all around.
The angry flash of lightning terrifies,
Along with shouts of thunder�"dreadful sound!
But rainy days and storm clouds too can bring
A special kind of promise to a day
Of food and drink for every growing thing,
The sustenance they need along the way.
So let the sun shine bright, but help me know
That I can revel in the storms and grow.
