Night Sky

I look up at the moon suspended in the darkened sky
And think of you and smile
Mother Nature has made it so that we can share
In its beauty for a while

The shining stars that accompany the moon
Twinkling like diamonds on high
What a magnificent and wondrous display
She has provided this night’s sky

Before its gone be sure to wish
On that bright shooting star
As it streaks across the vast heaven above
So near and yet so far

So look up to the moon suspended in the darkened sky
Think of me and smile
Mother Nature has made it so that we can share
In its beauty for a while

This was written for a friend who lives across the world, and always tells me to look at the moon and smile and so will they
