Good Night.

Good Night.

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

It is time for me to go,
there is no sense in me trying to hold on to you
day is going to break
and we both know we can't be together in the morning
good night

The time went so fast
there is no point in me second guessing
we both know it wasn't meant to be for us
And I want you to know I will never regret this
good night

I will miss you
it makes no difference to me if you won't miss me
you could forget all about the promises you made
that won't change the fact that you once felt that way
good night.

I am leaving.
I know I have said that a thousand times before
this time it makes no sense to go back on my word
I can barely keep my eyes open and the sun is rising
good night.
