Guilty

Guilty

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

I am guilty, a wretch

of a woman holding on to her pride.

All for the fight against admitting that

I am after that which is not mine.

I am sick, a shadow of a woman

keeping track of movements of strangers.

i really like this little poem, but i'm not sure why. maybe because it shows that we can know ourselves very well and not be happy with what we know. it's very well written and uses nice imagery. and something about it touches me.
