That kind of girl

That kind of girl

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

Well here we are

with our guilty heads in our hands

trying not to look each other in the eyes.

Our families would be ashamed to know that

when we go to sleep we want to hold each other.

My love would most likely tear my pride apart

when he finds out i whisper your name in my dreams

Now I can't speak for you and what is running through your mind

but if it is anything like what I am thinking

we had better hurry on our way down to hell,

because that is where people like us belong.

I hope with my mighty resolve that I am wrong about you

for I am perfectly capable of resisting you on my best day

but to know that you don't want me to,

well that may just be too much for me to walk away from.

For the life of my soul, I am begging you baby

keep it to yourself when you want to tell me you love me.

Don't make me that kind of girl,

sounds like a dangerous, but exciting relationship. you express the ambilvalent feelings quite well. i'd like to read a sequel if anything ever is resolved.
