Fire on the floor

Fire on the floor

A Poem by Sarah McKeever Hitt

Low and hard to pin point

heavy yet lighter than a feather sailing through the city

I can not put you out of my mind

I beg for mercy as you change everything

keen on mingling with what I deem too much for moral people

hit fast and where bruises can not be seen

there is nothing too dark for the light you cast upon me

And I am but a child for you.

Freefalling into the fire on the floor

not a second wasted nor a rescue team called

I feel safe in your care forever.

This reminds me of a situation I'm in with one of my friends. I like the emotion, it really drew me in. "I beg for mercy as you change everything" such a strong line. I love it!

I love how this builds momentum towards the middle. Did you mean 'your' on that last line? Strong insides
