A Story by Bethany Woody

Okay so I’m supposed to write this really long run on sentence for a contest and I was thinking I might try to tell my entire life story, all twenty five years of it, without any kind of punctuation, but it was so hard that I knew I had to come up with something easier so I started thinking that I might write about my theory on God and the Devil and how they created the world, the whole nine yards, light and darkness, land and water, plants, animals, man and women, you know Adam and eve and the garden of Eden with it’s forbidden fruit or apple, as a kind of contest between the two of them, see the Devil, who was still an angle at the right hand of God during all of this was a little peeved that he didn’t have as much power as God and he thought he could do a better job of the whole creation thing, see God had told the devil all about his idea to create the world and the Devil laughed and said it would never work, so God was a little miffed with the Devil too, so one day they, God and the Devil, are having a nice little chat about God’s idea to create the world and the devil laughs and says it will never work, and God says okay we will make it a challenge then, I’ll create it, all that I have talked about, light and dark, land and water, plants, animals man and women  and you can do all in your power to try and see that it doesn’t work, but you must realize I will do what I can to make sure that it does work, so God made the world, light and dark, land and water, plants, animals, man in his image, and then women from man, he also gave man and women free will, maybe this was a slip up on Gods part, because as we all know the devil took full advantage of their free will in the Garden of Eden and Adam and Eve ate from the tree with the forbidden fruit, and I have another theory on the consequences of this act, because of Eve’s slip up with eating the fruit, and then tempting Adam to do the same, she was cursed with PMS and then they were told to go forth and multiply, and as the old saying goes, “You wait until you have kids of your own, they are going to be ten times worse then you ever were, well that one got proved right, Cain killed his brother after all,  but anyways so the Devil is doing his best to see the world fail, and God is doing his best to see that it doesn’t, it’s a never ending battle as yet, but God does say there will be a second coming, but in the mean time, every once in a while God and the Devil get together again, maybe in some little café in France or atop a mountain in the Scottish highlands, who knows, but they get together and do a kind of run through over the last century, all of man’s achievements, all of man’s failures, some how they are keeping score of who is winning in this challenge of theirs but I have not figured that out yet, but I guess we will know who wins in the end.

Your theory on heaven, hell, God and Satan sounds about as good as any others. I especially like the little cafe in France; makes sense, sort of neutral ground. Good stuff.

oh man! Thats was good. Had to keep catching my breath on this one! I hope you win!
I only got confused at one part. What does the devil have to do with being an angle to god? or did you mean angel?

Good run on sentence! :)

That was fun. Never thought of things that way. However, if god and the devil are sitting in some tavern, having a beer and watching while the world struggle, they better at least tip well.

I feel so ungrammatically well-versed now. Thanks Beth... haha. This was a good one. I really like it.
