I pray the lord my soul to keep
Guide me safely through the night
and wake me with the morning light

For mother's surgery failed tonight
She will not wake to the morning light

with a bottle of depressants at me feet
If I must wake to the morning light
I hope to God I'll be alright

Its been years and I cant sleep
For nightmares haunt me through the night
I do not want to see the morning light

Now they lay me down to sleep
I pray the lord my soul to keep
carried to heaven, for I have died
Buried by my mother's side.
