Stop YouA Poem by QuietPoet
Stop You I was sitting at home in the kitchen And I see you were pouring Vodka into a shot glass You were chasing it with a energy drink You looked at me and asked if I wanted a shot I told you no and you had a disappointed stare.. I asked you what is wrong And you said that you wanted someone to drink with I still declined the request because I simply don’t drink like that.. And you being my brother you should have known About an hour goes by and I hear him go outside I’m praying that he doesn’t get in his car.. I hear his engine start And my heart dropped from my chest I wanted to run out to the street And stand in front of your car And say take my life Before you take your own and someone else’s.. When I got to the door you were already gone.. I wanted to pick up my phone and call you But you just wouldn’t listen to me I laid in my bed that night Worried and scared Hoping you are okay.. I see lights flash in my room It was you And I finally could breath again.. I said a prayer to God Thanking him for looking after you But I know deep down in my heart That this was not the first time And I am scared to death that this is not the last.. And I am not the one to stop you…. © 2008 QuietPoetReviews
