Noisy Tonight

I fall into bed tonight

Thinking about my whole life

Wanting my eyes to just close

They are so tired,

I can’t even focus on the computer screen

I’m in bed and all of the sounds hover over me

The fan is circling around

The washer is running

My sister is breathing

The clock is ticking away

The TV is on in the other room

My brother is out and about

My phone vibrates

Cars drive by with their lights shining bright

Trying to figure out why I can’t sleep tonight…

a wonderment that crosses many of our wondering minds. the feat to just fall asleep with out our minds running a muck is a trick to master. i understand your difficulty :-)
