Why Are You Here

This is about a patient that I knew in school and is now back in rehab. I have written 2 other poems about him "I remember you"..

Why Are You Here
A few weeks ago
I saw you walking
You looked at me
But you just kept walking
I was glad to see you
It looked like you were doing better
But I guess I was wrong..
I saw you again today
You walked in
And my eyes couldn’t stop looking
I just wanted to drop everything
And run over to you
Just grab you and ask you why you’re here again
But I didn’t, you walked up through the line
I kept my cool and so did you
But I know we are both thinking it
And I know we want to say something
But we don’t at all
We just act like we don’t know a thing
I know you and you know me
I think your more embarrassed
You don’t have to be
I want to help you
The thing I want to know most
Is why are you here
When you shouldn’t be..
