Back Stabber

Back Stabber

A Poem by Sirajudin Matin

Did you forget the words I’d say?
The passion in every motive,
A deeper purpose"
In every act.

But I’m glad this knife"
Thrust through my lungs,
Has never drawn back,
It keeps the blood from leaking,
It saves the dreams I have.

And look you’ve left me breathless,
Choking on my own tongue,
As I hope when you are dying,
The taste of metal in your mouth"
Reminds you…
Of all I’ve done.
