Twisted Is My Thought of You

Twisted Is My Thought of You

A Poem by Sirajudin Matin

Giving up on flying,
Hounds chew through broken wings,
Wishing to forget you,
The emotions that you beckon,
The simple song you sing.

A bleeding fetus,
I cannot breathe,
The sorrow that has filled me,
Deprives me of sweet dreams.

Running, I’m unwinding,
But shackles pull me down,
As I gaze upon my surroundings,
All I know is you.

As blue was September,
My blackest dream,
I need you to put me at ease.
