A Silent Prayer

A Silent Prayer

A Poem by Sirajudin Matin

A silent prayer,
In sweet reminisce,
Dreams spattered on the floor,
Flow from open wounds,
Hope runs down your cheek,
The pain of loss,
A poison of the mind,
Corrupts a lover’s slumber,
With a cut placed on your throat,
It’s much like drowning in dead dreams,
Your eyes begin to gleam,
As he awakes and screams.
