Set Free

A Poem by Robert Brian Satterfield
"

A deep thoughtful poem of a man's inner sorrow for his past.

"

As I sit I sometimes wonder, what makes a grown man cry? What sort of pain breaks his spirit and brings him to his knees? Is it the feeling he's not loved that brings a tear to his eye? Or is it the cry of his lonely soul that wants to be set free?

Through many nights he lies awake with a tear upon his cheek, and looking back upon the years and all the things he's done. Within himself he cries aloud," Please Lord set me free", and as he turns and looks around he sees he's not the only one.

Now no matter where you are we all could be this man, who cries to be lifted of the burdens he can't stand, so wipe the tears from your eyes so you can see, Christ died on a cross so we could be Set Free.
