My Journey

A poem about my inner soul's walk on the traveler's road in life.

I walk drifting in and out of reality,

my thoughts wandering before my next step,

traveling onward to a different road,

leaving me an empty vessel,

taking in all that's around me,

leaving nothing to imagination,

yet bringing everything in fantasy,

and giving me a sense of wonder.

 

I travel through this world of sorrow,

seeing all the pain and anger,

reaching out to help others,

my heart yearning to contribute,

longing to give love,

wanting to show compassion,

and leaving me aching inside.

 

I take my journey,

not knowing where it may lead,

wandering through life a lonely soul,

eager for a small ray of hope,

looking for laughter,

listening to the cries of others,

knowing I can help,

and yet no one is there.

 

This is my journey through life,

this is the way I must go,

each and every day the road changes,

yet I must follow the path set before me,

when will it end I know not,

where will it lead I can not see,

but I will travel on til the end,

for this is the depth of My Journey.
