Downer

Downer

A Poem by Rac7hel

Spill out your troubles, and pour a little whiskey on it.
Life’s a little rebel, better pull one over on it.
You give and you take, or you take and you take,
Until the world folds
And you win.
But you can’t fool the dealer, and you can’t fool me.
So drink another whiskey before you spill the beans.
You give and you take, or you talk and you talk
Til we all get drunk
And forget.
But you can’t fool me, and you won’t stop me thinking.
Get hammered if you want to but the dealer isn’t drinking.
You cry a little whiskey and you pull out your hair.
Keep drinking til you’re sober
And keep bitching
Til I care.
