The Illusion

The Illusion

A Poem by Rachel

Darkness is all that you can see,

And broken promises are all that you can hear,

Repeating themselves

Over and over

Inside your head.

You cannot move,

For fear instils itself in your mind,

And numbness grips your body,

Refusing to let it go.

But everything will be alright.

All the selfish lies that

Tore your heart in two

Continue to eat away at you, and

The friends you used to know and love

Have betrayed you in

Everyway imaginable.

But everything will be alright.

The stars are out of reach again

And the sun lies on the ground,

Shattered into a thousand pieces and

You know that there is

Nothing in the world

That you can do but pray

That someday, somehow

Everything will be alright.

Nicely done. I could definitely understand the illusion. Keep writing.

this one is so relatable with me. I like the emotions put forth into this write. I just loved the last four lines of this. So very nicely done.
