The WireA Poem by Rachell R. TaylorRomance is a voice in a map of black phone lines, his love for me, clicking in static. I hear the words ‘amazing’‘wonderful’, and ‘brilliant’ like Morse code for our life to be. Each hit a mandatory pulse in my chest, a deep breath of thick atmosphere his voice creates over the wire. Our loneliness lingers; that electric hum when it rains, raising the hair on the back of our necks, absent only when there are clear skies ahead. My dear it’s only getting darker for us. In our stubbornness we hold the line. Can you hear me? Are you there? You know I love you, right? © 2008 Rachell R. TaylorReviews
