Don't

Don't

A Poem by Rachel

I don't hate you. I wish I did-

It would've been easier.

But the truth is, I still care.

Even after everything. You walked away like we were just a chapter, like I was something temporary. And maybe I was.

But you were not, not to me.

You were in every dream I had, every plan, every late-night thought, every stupid smile.

And now I'm left with silence where your voice used to be, and questions that will never get answered.

I hope you're happy.

I hope it was worth it.

But most of all, I hope you never do to someone what you did to me.

I felt this, especially the opening lines.
Very authentically written. Simple but powerful.
Hurt- something that can make us write to silently bleed through poetry.
