Pieces

Pieces

A Poem by Rachel

My heart is broken

into a million tiny pieces,

and I am no good at puzzles.

I don’t know what to do

with all these jagged shards

that refuse to fit,

edges sharp with memory,

with hope.

Like Humpty Dumpty,

I sit at the foot of the wall,

hands full,

whole nowhere in sight.

I cannot put myself

back together again.

Not yet.

But I will

slowly,

piece by piece,

learning the shape of myself

as I go.

In time.

I promise.

I like the sunshine popping up in the rain at the end of this piece. Very hopeful. We have all felt this. All too well. Great piece!
