Heart or Body

Which do I listen to?

The heart or the body?

 

My heart is telling me to trust again. "It’s ok, you won’t get hurt; not this time."

My body instinctively pulls away, telling me it’s too soon.

 

But when will it be time?

For my heart to be able to feel again?

 

My nerves tell me that I don’t have what it takes to go through another heartbreak.

But my heart wants to try so badly.

 

My mind is romancing the idea of love while my memories cloud all the light at the end of the tunnel.

 

The fear of someone leaving again is far too much to handle…my hands and breath start to tremble.

But my heart pounds so loudly, I can barely hear the quiver of uncertainty in my thoughts.

 

Is this hope? Is this fear? Is this of my own doing?

 

So, which do I listen to?

The heart?

Or

The body?

I like the way you switch between heart and body here.....taking the reader on a journey...through past hurt and future joy....

I guess only you can decide at the end of the day...:)

Beautiful. One can never truly know what to do. The mind can't deny the body and the body can't deny the mind. They are both 'you'. As the guru sitting on the mountain I would say listen to your heart, that's the real you.

as for advice on romance and how to deal with heartbreak.
given my track record I wouldn't think my advice would be much use.
