Thrown awayA Poem by RaeArthurmy adventure over christmas
One last draw on a midnight cigarette
before I go inside to sleep. My mind flirts with the edge of madness wondering what could have been. You held me by the heart for years anxiously awaiting my departure. I threw away my world for you just to be in your embrace. And in return I get nothing more then a glance across the room. For this I know I made a mistake, and now 1000 miles away from home. Only to awake in a strangers house thinking you would be my world. And so I leave slamming your door a gentle goodbye for the time I wasted.
