A Collection of TankaA Poem by RainbowcoVarious Tanka
nothing changes
the moon nor the sun
only I
shutter the windows
while you are away
*******************
brushing my hair
one hundred strokes
waiting…waiting
for the door to open
I start over… again
*******************
by your side
I watch your face
you smile
scanning the room
I wonder…why
******************
in the distance
thunder grumbles
a promise
given in forget-me-nots
fall from pages read long ago
***********************
oh, mother,
I knew you loved me
least of all;
this day my tears flow
as if, I was your favorite
*********************
past and future
become a poppy
as I sleep
blooms of forgetfulness
drop pedals to the ground
**********************
he planted
forget-me-nots
along the path
in the willows’ shadows
she walks alone
**********************
the heat’s weight
settles upon the night
tormenting me
the coolness of the pillow
where your head once lay
********************
this hour
apple blossoms mingle
with driftwood;
I watch the river
as you prepare to leave
*******************
how cold
the wind blows
tonight
even in my dreams
you abandon me
