If she had been wearing her seat belt

If she had been wearing her seat belt

A Poem by Randy Johnson
"

EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A FICTIONAL POEM, EVERYBODY SHOULD WEAR SEAT BELTS.

"

My daughter might have had a chance if she'd been wearing her seat belt.

Now I'm miserable and my life is worthless because of the blow I was dealt.

While I was driving her to Dollywood, I hit a truck head on.

She was only six years old and it's my fault that she's gone.

She'd still be alive if I had made her wear her seat belt like I should've.

A few people have said that the seat belt might not have saved her but I know it would've.

My In-laws hate me but they don't hate me half as much as I hate myself.

My wife has stood by my side but I would've deserved it if she had left.

My daughter should've died of old age but she didn't even make it to the age of ten.

Some day in the future I might be able to forgive myself but I don't know when.

What a tragic tale you weave…

Profound message here, sad story within your poetry. Glad it's fictional.
