A Parent's Living Nightmare
A Poem by
Raven Starhawk
Bells toll in horror's wake
While tribes mourn for future's loss
And innocence is escorted in small coffins
To eternal resting havens
Sleep now children
Where you are
No one can ever hurt you again
© 2012 Raven Starhawk
Author's Note
Again...not the best poem I've ever written. There are no complex metaphors or cryptic passages. It just came as did the tears for those children murdered by a madman.

What a delicate piece of writing, a sympathy of words, dear friend . When it comes to empathy, the 'how' is not important, merely the 'why and what'.
