Goodnight DadA Poem by Soul FireI try to convince myself I’m not depressed. But it’s kind of hard with all the emotions I suppress. I slowly start to fade, As I am consumed by pain and stress. I look like a total mess. I try to do my best, But I am accused of things I did not do. Unsuccessful. That’s me, Where are you? I try to leave the past in the past, But that kind of thinking never lasts. I try to look through the photo albums of Daddy and I. But that is torture. There goes another tear. Daddy Dear, Daddy Dear, I miss you, I wish you were here. I look into the cupboard and see their rings, Their love should’ve lasted, They shouldn’t have sweat the little things. I should be over this, This was a few years ago. But every time I see you at the door. Daddy. My heart cries ‘’ Don’t go!’ I guess you never hear my heart when it cries, I should just suck it up. ‘Goodnight Daddy, Goodbye.’
