Prisoner to myself

Random post of current feelings

My mind is prisoner to negativity.

The shackles around my ankles cling to me.

All I want is someone to notice me.

Where’s my lover,

Will he save me?

Or is everyone oblivious to me?

It is certainly a mystery.

My question is,

Have they forgotten me?

I feel a deep sense of loneliness from this poem... we all have our moments when we feel the world is against us and that we are left alone to face its many monsters... but you just have to take a moment a stop and relax, forget everything for a moment and return to reality when you feel you're ready to take it on...

Short and powerful. The imagery of the shackles, as if the things that bar you down can be broken, but there is no reason to break them if no one will notice your existence. Powerful!
