Order of Pundit's Pain

Order of Pundit's Pain

A Poem by Raymond Federle
"

Order of Pundit's Pain

"

Suddenly I remember our eternity together and the memory tasks me.

So quietly you must suffer my wisdom, without mercy you must suffer my soul.

Still again, acknowledge that I create boundless destinations for your pain.

The world is hardly a unique tomb, full of fear and dark corners, that should I run far and wide I may not overcome so ironic a place.

That rather unconscious emotion shall never violate, nor conceal, the innocence, this resting place where I wretchedly crush your so unforgiven screams.

As if revenge could conceal without pity the wrong done unto me.

Through your innocence could I call you mine enemy and silently defy your pity for pities sake.

I will fall and die for my sin and pain, while you must make a friend of misery and suffering and live with yours forever.

I felt as though I got a glimpse into the insanity that is love, but this is a demented sort of love - one of pain and grief and misery. Now I hope you don't take offense, but this highly reminded me of Mr. Bob. In a sense, I can see him speaking this way to his victims: "So quietly you must suffer my wisdom, without mercy you must suffer my soul." Whether or not this was your intentions or if is the meaning you wished to portray, it is what I felt. You struck a cord in me and I appreciate that. This is great poetry.

You had me from the first line, but my favourite was "As if revenge could conceal without pity the wrong done unto me". The raw emotion of helplessness is so evident here and I love that.

This is the exact situation I was in some time ago. You captured the feeling of sorrow and vulnerability really well. Good one Raymond!
