City of Woe

City of Woe

A Poem by Raymond Federle
"

City of Woe

"

Flowers shrink!
Noise is a fast street.

Speak loudly,

 like a grimy corner girl.
All streets get slick and fast,

rain soaked shine.

The street stops a man like a rusty nail.

Why does the street run?

Where is the hot hood?

Gibbering noises quickly fade like a faceless dream.

Faith is like a rainy day downtown.
The light grows like a misty flower.
I bloom in my despair,

in this City of Woe.
