Today

A Poem by Raymond Federle
"

Today

"

I journey to a wonderous place.
I find my childhood home;

And hide happily inside.
To relax on a clear afternoon,
With the sky so large and wide.

The noon shadow is high and swift.
In a world that rich men have bought.
But I'll stay here with me,

As if comfort were needed.
Happily lost in thought.

It's like taking a day to travel back in time to summer days past and happy winter evenings. It brings back wonderful memories just reading it.
That song brings back memories in itself. It reminds me of late nights/early mornings spent listening to ghost stories and fancy tales on Coast to Coast.
Very well done! ^^

Adore the song choice, it is perfect for this poem and as for the poem, truly fantabulous!

Well, a little sappier than what I am used to with you, but sometimes you have to have some sugar to sweeten it up. Thanks for the extra helping.:)

I bet they don't eat fried unicorns for breakfast there either, just saying. ;-)

Wow... that second stanza is so powerful... everything about it just reverberates in me. Definitely worth pulling out of the shelf I say!

There are some things that simply are not for sale. Beautifully spoke.
