Dark Dancing

Dark Dancing

A Poem by Raymond Federle
"

Dark Dancing

"

Surrounded by blank fears in an empty space of forgotten realities.

I see the resonating light.

Pulsing brighter with each vibration.

It screams silent revenge and claws at the infinite blackness.

It grows as the morning slices through the still air.

I am afraid of the light, the truth and the reality that clings to the sun.

I have been hidden from the truth for so long.

I love to swim in the puddles of black dismay, scream at the demons that torture my soul in a beautiful pain, see nothing but a vast array of stars.

The remains of my shattered faith drift in this darkness where no one is judged by appearance, for you can only see that haunted shade.

Yet still the light shines unrelenting, it burns upon my soul.

The brightest light only casts a darker shadow.

I will dance with the silhouettes of my thoughts in the blackest corners of the mind.

The brightest light only casts a darker shadow.
I will dance with the silhouettes of my thoughts in the blackest corners of the mind.

In those shadows hides true alchemy, I think. LOVED this write, Raymond.

The remains of my shattered faith drift in this darkness where no one is judged by appearance, for you can only see that haunted shade.

I love the honesty in this poem. The references to truth and light add to the deeper meaning of this poem. There is an undercurrent of unhinged sanity here too that makes this poem really shine. Great work! :)

Though you write dark or sad piece, this one I find very honest and understanding. Sort of reaching out, pleading for understanding and acceptance . You spoke about the light ... and yet portrayed or mused as something to be feared. It makes me ask this question. Why ? Why finds solace in pain and darkness ? Why find solace in emptiness ? Why embrace despair ? When there's reason to hope ... Just me wondering ..
You're very talented and very deep in this piece.
