Stained Time

Stained Time

A Poem by Raymond Federle
"

Stained Time

"

Do your worst old Time, despite your wrong,
You would corrupt my saint to be a devil,
And in this change is my invention.
Where the judgment of my soul is tied?

Live no more in shame, not me, nor you.
She may detain, but not still keep, her treasure.
To his palate he does prepare the cup,
Yet what the best is, take the worst to be.

That sin by him, advantage should achieve.
When my glass shows me myself indeed.
No praise to you but what in you does live?
Buy terms divine in selling hours of boredom.

Into the abyss I throw all care,
To make me give the lie to my true sight,
What goodness has wrought, evil now abides
And lays all my soul open bare.

Stained time is our past. When we have gone through so much pains, everything will come into change.

I like the concept. Nice image and music choice. Keep it up, Ray!

Extremely thought provoking my friend. Everything changes and everything is the same...looking at it differently may be the key...may not. Very well crafted poem Raymond.
