Order of the Pundit's PainA Poem by Raymond FederleOrder of the Pundit's PainSuddenly, I remember our eternity together and the memory tasks me. So quietly I must suffer alone in my wisdom, without mercy you must suffer my soul. Still again, acknowledge that I create boundless destinations for pain. The world is hardly a tomb, but full of fear and dark corners, that should I run far and wide, that I may not overcome so ironic a place. Rather that unconscious emotion shall never violate, nor conceal the innocence in this resting place where I wretchedly crush your my hope for tomorrow. As if revenge could conceal, without pity, the wrong done unto me. Through your innocence could I call you enemy and silently defy your pity for pities sake. I will fall and die for my pain, while you must make a friend of misery and suffering and live with yours forever. © 2015 Raymond Federle |
