Damsel

Damsel

A Poem by Rebecca

I was born in blood.

Imperial red, saturated, inside out.

Dripping from my plump parted lips

Inhaling deeply as if Awoken from a submarine slumber.

Kissable cursing red.

Awake and Alive!

and I cried out for a woman’s touch.

I am evulsed into the arms of many men

and thus given the king's blessing.

They lay me inside out.

Imperial Red.

Smothered,

Suffocating on their soft white sheets.
