I Saw an Angel the Other Day

I saw an angel the other day,
In that window across the way.
He had bright green eyes and long white robes,
Standard-issue angel clothes.

I looked at him and he looked at me.
I wondered what those eyes could see.
My sins were numerous, without a doubt,
He probably saw too many to count.

After a while, I strayed away,
Blinking once in the bright of day.
He disappeared without a trace.
Off with God somewhere in space.

To this day I think of those eyes,
Those Angel-Godlike worldly ties.
I wonder if he could see
What I was and what I could be.
