Anxiety

Wrote this because I was feeling very anxious for some reason as I sat in the backyard of my Brothers house.

I sit in darkness

Enshrouding me

In a blanket of anxiety,

I turn my head

Flares of light in the distance

Blinding me,

I stare into the sky

Balls of light

Fireflies caught in the great black web

Barely visible behind tainted light,

I close my eyes

A screech or chirp above me

Crickets off to the distance

An orchestra albeit a s****y one

Sounds clashing with one another

Police sirens adding to the ensemble

A s****y yet harmonizing tune,

I take a deep breathe

Waiting and waiting

For something that may never come

A sign

Its a little hard to understand. The imagery you used allows me to picture very different flashes of images. I think its about a place in a bad part of town...maybe?? Try to clear up what you're talking about while still allowing a bit to the imagination.

It's surprising how nighttime sounds can sort of entrance you. Your imagery was okay, but I agree that you could smooth it out a bit. The flow of the words is a little off though a few of the lines are pretty good. "Fireflies caught in the great black web" -I liked that. Keep writing.
