A Poem by Release

It's time

I release you

as you hold your imaginary rope

that ties me to your imaginary posts

I release you

and I remove myself

for my own protection

as well as your own

I release you

with a demand

yes, a demand

for I am not yours yet

I am not your wife

submission is yet foreign to me

I tell you now

that this conversation will go no further

until I hear my questions answered

straight from your lips

truth

unfiltered and undiluted

with no pretense or illusion

I am serious in my endeavor

I am serious about my love

I have played your way long enough

I release you

into whatever it is you need to do

at this point in time

whether it be rest, reflection, or more writing

I have ceased entirely

weaned myself slowly

from the poor trickle of nourishment

that comes from your false breast

you are a man,

and that is NOT YOUR CHILD.

I love you

and I wish you all the best

on your journey.

Maybe you really should release him. That really isn't your intention with these words.

wow! what a powerful poem. I especially liked the imagery concerning "the poor trickle of nourishment
that comes from your false breast"; that line really carries quite an impact. Keep up the good work! Your words are simply awesome.
