A Poem by Rena Beau
The second rendition that was written of "Broken Soul". written May 10th, 2004.
A broken heart,
A tortured soul,
He faced the darkness,
All alone.
A small child,
with a different face,
he's always felt,
out of palce.
He used to sit,
And wonder why,
The other children,
Would make him cry,
Though he knows why,
the world is round,
just as the others,
but his skin is brown.

I was quite the little radical when I was a kid. Just a bit of background on how this poem came about there. All my projects when I was younger, because I lived in an area that was actually still a bit segregated in the mental sense, were on Martin Luther King, and Martin Luther King Jr., and Harriet Tubman, etc., etc.
